Sappi Germany GmbH
Sappi is a leading global supplier of everyday products made from renewable wood fibers. As a broad-based innovation leader in the paper sector, Sappi supports the regenerative circular economy by focusing on renewable resources and sustainable action.
Sappi's raw materials (including pulp, wood pulp and biomaterials) and end products (packaging papers, specialty papers, graphic papers, cast and release papers, forest products) are made from wood fibers sourced from sustainably managed forests and plantations. Many Sappi mills use internally generated bioenergy, so that several production processes are energy self-sufficient.
Sappi produces 5.5 million tons of paper, 2.6 million tons of paper pulp and 1.5 million tons of dissolving pulp annually. The company employs over 12,000 people worldwide and has over 400,000 hectares of sustainably managed forests in South Africa, including both owned and leased land. Sappi Limited (JSE) is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with production facilities on three continents and sells its products in more than 150 countries.
Sappi Europe is part of Sappi Limited, whose European mills are certified under the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™ C015022) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC/07-32-76) schemes.
