When the 'Festival of Black Art' wanted to order a mass for the society's deceased in a Cologne parish office in 2006, the parish secretary refused to register the service under this name. For her, church services and magic and sorcery were incompatible. If the lady had understood anything about printing and media, she would of course have realized that 'black art' could only mean letterpress printing. But even in some insider circles of the Cologne carnival, there is still a need for explanation from time to time.
