Are you bubbling over with creative ideas and keen on a job that combines the digital with the analog? The three-year apprenticeship Digital and print media designer offers you an exciting combination of creative and technical tasks. You will learn how to create appealing designs for print media such as magazines and brochures as well as for digital media such as websites, apps and social media. You will also learn how to work across and between media - because the symbiosis of digital and print has great potential! The theoretical part of the training takes place at vocational school, while you work on real projects in the company and gain practical experience.

In the third year of training, media designers specialize in one of four fields:

1. Project managementCustomer advice, marketing and communication measures, commercial tasks.
2. Design conceptAnalysis of customer orders, development and presentation of design ideas.
3. Print mediaData preparation for printing, use of automated processes.
4. Digital mediaProgramming and design of digital media, creation of animations, video and sound recordings and development of apps.

The most important skills you will acquire during your training include a good eye for colors, shapes and proportions, technical know-how and the use of programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD. After Effects etc. 

With increasing digitalization in almost all industries, the need for well-trained media designers is growing, and as developments in the areas of AR, VR and AI progress, more and more exciting and innovative opportunities for specialization and career prospects are opening up.

After completing your training, you will have a wide range of career opportunities. For example, you can work in advertising agencies, publishing houses and print shops, but also in areas such as online marketing, e-commerce, app development or social media.
